Here are our event details

International Research Symposium 2022 of the University of Vocational Technology has been scheduled for Thursday, 24th November 2022. This Symposium aims to bring together scholars, innovative researchers, academics, practitioners, and students from different universities, university colleges, R & D Institutes, and private sector institutions for discussions on challenges, opportunities, and innovations toward resilience. Prospective authors are invited to submit their extended abstracts written in English on subject matters related to any of the sub-themes of the sessions. The prospective, valuable contributions will be evaluated by a Scientific Review Committee.


Towards a Resilient Future -
"Opportunities and Innovations"


Today, the world is beset by several challenges that focus on intensive sustaining of socio-economic development. The future looks bright, creating opportunities through innovations in different disciplines with advanced technologies. While the challenges, the requirement for resilience and sustainability in the systems on which society depends is recognized as a global priority.It is also clear that to achieve resilience, input from education, technology, and innovation will be necessary.The University of Vocational Technology encourages youngsters aimed at enhancing innovation, and technology and creating opportunities for a resilient future.

  • Film, television, and media for a resilient society
  • Harnessing the opportunities in hospitality industry for resilient future
  • Fostering skills for innovations and to create opportunities
  • Opportunities and Innovations in Textile and Apparel
  • Innovations and opportunities in energy efficiency

Journal publication

The extended abstract including an introduction and a list of references shall be of no more than eight (8) A4 size pages excluding the cover sheet. The details of the author shall not be included within the paper and a separate cover sheet with author details and sub-theme shall be submitted. Final extended abstracts will be double-blind reviewed by a review panel.

The extended abstracts should be submitted to the Conference Management Toolkit (CMT). For more information http://uovt.ac.lk/IRS2022/

Submitted articles must not have been previously published, nor should they be submitted for consideration for publication elsewhere, while under review for this symposium. The similarity index for plagiarism check is 20%.

Authors of the best extended abstracts will be invited to publish the full papers of the relevant extended abstract in the Journal of University of Vocational Technology.

The University of Vocational Technology (UoVT) is Established by the parliamentary Act No. 31 of 2008, and functions under the purview of the State Ministry of Skills Development, Vocational Education, Research & Innovations. Skilled Technicians maintain the daily Technological functions of the industrial world Ensuring the Technology runs accurately and efficiently. Hands-on approach to Technical Education providing the Essential tools for students to succeed in their careers upon graduation.

Registration Fee

Authors from University of Vocational Technology and University Colleges are excluded from paying registration fees.
Particulars related to the payment of registration fees for the authors will be informed with the notification of acceptance.
